We are happy to announce that today we layed down the foundation and started working on a new 10" water pipeline connecting Bhimnagar to the Industrial area. We will try to finish the work in quick time, so as to facilitate this basic need of life. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Swachh abhiyan

Crossing the so-called borders between parties, we whole heartedly support the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. So while, it is easier to just "ask" people to clean up their act, it is really important that every cityzen and their representatives follow the initiative whole heartedly and with utmost dedication. I have tried to inculcate these virtues to the best of my abilities, within my close circle and the entire constituency at large. Among the many initiatives conducted, one was, on the ground cleaning of the roads and footpaths. While this is done by the PMC staff quite efficiently, we as cityzen's need to lend our hand once in a while. We did an educative cleanliness drive on Christmas day, to get the constituents thinking in the right direction on such an auspicious day. Let us all hope, pray and work towards a cleaner living environment for all our Cityzen's.

Constructed a footbridge in the vicinity of Shinde Vasti to facilitate better connectivity to the areas across the canal. This had been a sore issue because the pedestrians had to walk a long way just to cross the canal. We've constructed this with money from our own pockets, since it had to be done at the earliest without waiting for the bureaucratic hurdles.

By our beliefs, just building infrastructure is not the answer to a better life. The quality of life depends upon how we take care of the infra built, and constant maintenance of the same. A lot of people are focusing on the "build" part, and the rest is easily forgotten whereas the part that comes later is far more important. Going by the same beliefs, we constantly maintain and clean up the "invisible" infra in our area so as to avoid any health and safety risks that might arise. Here is one of such drives where we cleaned up all (clogged and unclogged) drainage lines on the BT Kawade road.

On the occasion of Ajit Dada Pawar's birthday, we have installed a hand pump bore well for watering of plants at Cloud-9 Anandwan. This was done along with a massive plantation at the same location. Additionally a drawing competition was also held to give the children of the area a great way to express their art. The drive was held on 29th July 2015.

Due to the persistent problems in the area and the rapid growth of the locality, the pressure on the public amenities has increased many fold in the last few years. To counter this load a new Drain line needed to be installed in some parts of our ward. In this context we have successfully budgeted and cleared a new drainage line around the Panchashil Nagar area. If you have problems with drainage in your area, let us know through the app, with enough support we will have a clean and healthy ward.

As a new academic year has started, Mrs. Nandatai Lonkar has taken active participation in understanding the problems in the schools in the area. And one of the major obstacles to learning, was the socio-economic conditions of the students studying in schools, especially the government schools. Keeping this in mind, Mrs. Lonkar distributed school books to children in these schools who could not afford to buy them

As the world celebrates "World Environment Day", the residents of NIBM road in association with the corporator Mrs. Nandatai Lonkar, had a massive plantation drive covering a large area near the Cloud9/Nine hills area. The drive was attended by members of the Moholla committee's and local residents. Thank you all for the help and support As they say "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is NOW". Wish you all a great day and hope you are doing your bit for the environment

This comes as a request to all the cityzen's of the area, to not throw their garbage, especially the non-biodegradable kind, into the canals in our area (or anywhere for that matter). There is a regular uptick in mosquito and other insect infestation in the area when the canals are so overburdened with garbage that a normal flow of water is close to impossible. After a walkin complaint from one of the resident societies nearby, we undertook this massive task of cleaning up the canal bed before the onset of the monsoon season. Hopefully this will solve the problem until residents start throwing their trash here again. Take care and wish you all a clean and healthy monsoon ahead.
